Bush massages Merkel

In what is easily the most amusing story of the past 24 hours, this photo sequence is making the rounds in world newspapers and television programs. My favorite quote on the incident came from Hoover Fellow Bill Whalen, who said "There are those who say the President should be more Clintonesque...maybe he misunderstood what they meant."

If Germany is anything like America, her political opponents will create a paper mache float with draft-quality likenesses of the two world leaders, put signs on it saying "The Bush Caress" and "Just Geopolitically Married" in the hopes of tying Merkel to the unpopular Bush. They'll cite her agreement with Bush on one of Germany's hottest issues (economic deregulation), over which she is often at odds with members of her own party, and then run around claiming "The Caress" is proof that Merkel has become too close to Bush, despite her strong disagreements with Bush on critical issues.

Sound familiar?

Haha. Very nice. Puts it into perspective a bit, don't it?

I think that all Democrats can agree that Bush should really stop touching people.

mike m. - very agreed.

My favorite quote on this thing is from Janette Gitler:
"Obviously, the president isn't included in any kind of sensitivity training at the White House"

He criticized Clinton for committing adultery and then lying about it under oath. Sorry, but that's more than a little understandable.

He still voted against impeachment and never even supporter censure. Clinton has said that he never felt betrayed or unfairly targeted by Lieberman.

Maybe that's why Clinton spoke so glowingly of him last week and is supporting him for re-election.

Here's the real and only question that Lieberman must answer: is he a Democrat or is he an Independent? He simply cannot be both.

If he's a Democrat, then the will of the Democratic voters of Conn. as expressed in the primary should be paramount. Lieberman has made it clear that he will ignore that expression of voter will.

Therefore, he cannot be a Democrat and must be an Independent. As such, he should immediately withdraw from the Deomocratic primary and run solely as an Independent. Any other action will be nothing more than an expression of contempt toward the Democratic voters of Conn.

Ah liebermanforlieberman. Good at nothing except trolling, lying, and reporting speculation as fact.

He must really be pissed that there is a blog finally telling the truth about Lieberman's record. That's why he spends all of his time trolling here.

I removed a comment from this entry. I don't edit for content, folks, but I will delete posts that refer to "killing brown people" if I happen to see them.

centrist: lieberman sez lying about bjs' is a censure offense, but lying to start a war is ok.

why is fellatio more important than torturing and killing people? that seems pretty racist.

Lieberman has never said that it was ok to torture and kill people, and you know it.

Yeah, we all know what a big racist Lieberman is (sarcasm there if you missed it). Man, those 100% ratings from the NAACP and the United Latin American Citizens League must really be burning you Lieberhaters.

The lies from the Lieberhaters continue.

centrist: lieberman did not support feingold's censure for the bush war on islam. he could have. further, lieb. also condoned torture by supporing "Abu Ghraib" Gonzo. lieberman has weird morals.

The Bush war on Islam? What, do you think Bush has launched the Tenth Crusade?

And Feingold's censure was for NSA wiretapping, not the war. Idiot.

And to say that Lieberman condones torture because he voted to confirm the first-ever Hispanic AG is absurd. It's the most GOP tactic in the world to say that by voting in favor of confirmation for someone, you're expressing support for everything they've ever done. It's amazingly simpleminded.

Hahaha. Fortunately, no one listens to morons like you that just repeat the same distortions about Lieberman over and over again.

Wow, so he's on friendly terms with Hannity despite the fact that he disagrees with Hannity on virtually every issue that isn't Iraq.

Actually this makes perfect sense. You all probably have no friends because you insist on never being on good relations with people who disagree with you. That's why you have nothing better to do than troll and lie here.
