Ned Lamont, Country Club Democrat

If Ned Lamont is trying to shed his image as an dilettante opportunist, he may want to stop talking about his exclusive Greenwich country club. Check out this disturbing passage from today's front-page story in the New York Times, where Lamont confesses that he quit his membership at the restrictive Round Hill country club not out of principle but only because he was afraid of how it might look in the campaign.

For years the Lamonts were members of the Round Hill country club in Greenwich, but Mr. Lamont said he resigned his membership because he did not want it to become a distraction in his campaign. Mr. Lamont said the club excluded people because it was so expensive, and also said he was “a little bit” concerned that many of its members were white.

“It’s not as diverse as it should be,” Mr. Lamont said. “I didn’t pay as much attention to that before the race began, to tell you the truth."

It will be curious to see how Lamont's apologists in the blogworld spin this one.

Don't you have anything better to do with your life than troll here?

What's the matter - Lamont not giving you enough money to advertize your site on your own? Maybe you should hit up some of his racist country club buddies.

But I guess being a lying troll actually works well for someone of your lack of intelligence, which is obvious from the fact that all you do is repeat Lamont's press releases and other bloggers' anti-Lieberman stories.

lieberman4liebman: cool article, thx. quote apropos for this thread topic:

"Why is it "buying" a Senate seat when you use your own money but not when you use the money of special interests? Joe gets his money from corporate America. Lamont gets his from one businessman - himself."

heh.

From Ned's site (see above link):

Senator Barack Obama reminded Connecticut Democrats recently what a difference good, progressive government can make in people’s lives—from social security and Medicare to the national highway system and the Civil Rights acts.

What he fails to mention is that his hero, Mr. Obama, endorsed Joe Lieberman!

Lieberman has said repeatedly that he will only run as an independent and will caucus with Dems, so he's already answered that question.

So Lieberman is not mulling it, but a deputy comm director is not authorized to make statements on behalf of the whole campaign. It has to be the head comm director or campaign manager.

And so, unsurprisingly, the Lamontista lies continue. Citing speculation as fact, a tactic perfected by Karl Rove. How pathetic.
